A graduate in electronic engineering, she followed her heart and went the showbiz way in 1993 starting off as the lead in a French film Le prix d’ une femme for France 3 television.

Apart from roles in movies including Dil Chahta Hai, Page 3, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag , Marigold , Calendar Girls , Dasvidaniya and Fashion to name a few in Bollywood.

She has acted in 2 Hollywood films,
The Other Side Of The Door for 20 th Century Fox and
The Valley for which she won best actress at the Milan and Long Island international film festivals.
